A person claiming to have been employed at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale made a public blog comment concerning Bob Coy.

The blog comment stated that Bob Coy had resigned and that the resignation will be announced after this Sunday’s services in a closed meeting for CCFL attendees.

Can anyone in Fort Lauderdale or from Calvary Chapel with knowledge of Bob Coy’s situation and CCFL please confirm or deny whether Coy has resigned?

Email me at agrenier7 at gmail dot com. If you are more comfortable speaking on the phone, email me your number and I will contact you by phone.

  1. There is no “perfect” church, or person, or marriage, or job, or country……remember the good things about all the Calvary Chapels everywhere…… the not so perfect “Bride of Christ” like all the rest of the Christian churches worldwide…..more good has been done than bad throughout history….look at the big picture…Christ is perfection….Christ is Grace.

  2. Bob, we still love you, at your at your age this should of not happened but remember in the earlier 90s the scandal with james gould. I think you missed the mark and it was too late it got out of hand. for a church founded by a woman who doesn’t allow women to teach this is really hard to believe. It happens to the best. I will pray for you and yours , diana your wife from thy youth your boys. hopefully you have learned the lesson please do more counseling on how to stay faithful and less on how to avoid marriage which was the church special. it lasted a long time i really thought it would take place when you were behind Robertson’s but you were in love. Bob we are still here believing nothing is impossible for God and sometimes we get up even better after a fall. my prayers are with your family.

  3. Pastor Bob made a mistake and I am sure he is beating himself up for it…… I believe he gave 99 pounds of good to the church he started and we shouldn’t hang him out to dry for the 1 pound of bad. Thanks for all the good you’ve done Pastor Bob…. the “Enemy” may be rejoicing but we are not. We / I will pray for Pastor Bob that he makes amends and moves on with his life. I know lots of people who will be lifting him and his family up in prayer. Be gentle on yourself Pastor Bob. Make amends, ask for forgiveness and move on. Don’t dwell on the 1 pound of bad…… Amen.

  4. Pastor Bob is a man. God loves him and forgives him just as He does any other man who humbly comes before Him and confesses his sin and repents. The Body of Christ whether in California or Florida must follow God’s example forgiving and loving him through this. Show the world what Jesus taught. Love God. Love people.

  5. Forgive them for they know not what they do are the final Words God Spoke when he was Up onthe Cross. Lets all be respectful of Pastor Bob and his family. The Lord has already forgiven Bob,I believe Pastor Bob had an Awakening in Israel ,I believe The Lord revealed himself to Bob in Israel. Everyone should go there. It’s the Abdolute Truth in Living Color, I am That I Am will meet you too If you Allow him. Please pray for Pastor Bob and his Family. We have all sinned and Come short of the Glory Of God . If You Crucify Bob you Crucify Christ all over again. And that is an Abomination !! The Lord said in the End Times he would seperate the Sheep from the Goats,I don’t necessarily mean Bob but I mean all of us!! We will all be tested to see where our Hearts really are. And if you Guys want to do something really Powerful then you will help Bob. I’d like to talk to Pastor Bob myself,I know I can reach his Spirit and Heart. Words alone can Deliver ,I will Put this in the Lords Hands. The Lord Will Have The Last Word on all this,he is Not Done with Bob,he Loves him and will Uplift him, and to the Atheists trying to cause trouble here,Your Demonic Days are Over,Get behind me Satan in the Name of Jesus Christ,,we will Not Cast Our Pearls before Swine. The Lord will bring Deliverance to this Church and I will help in any way I can. Is this Anerica or What? United we Stand Diviidef we Fall. A house Against itself cannot Stand!!! Now People Wake up ,Lets rally the Troops!!! Lets Go,!!!! The Gates Of Hell will not Prevail Against Us !!!!!! Who wants to help?

  6. Love Bob Coy enough to say “No, we will not tolerate this type of behavior by a person who wants to be a pastor over us.” Love Bob Coy enough to cause him to bear the proof of repentance. Love Bob Coy enough to draw the tough boundaries that needs to be set into place that protects the flock and from himself. Hold him to an account and make sure he gets the therapy that is available to vigorously addresses the issues he has while enabling him to develop the empathy that he lacked towards those he has hurt.

Love him enough to let him go and be healed and not rush just because you want him there as a pastor. He has a lot of work to do and it won’t be easy—not by a long shot.

  7. I love you Pastor Bob..don’t give up don’t give in to the enemy dont entertain him..let God handle it…I lift you and your family up in prayer..this to shall come to past as you continue to let God lead you on His path…you are forgiven..new mercies every morning
.What a mighty God we serve

  8. 10 years my wife and I (and child) went to Calvary downtown and never had a chance to meet him personally. I always wanted to….and still would enjoy a sup of coffee with him. Somewhere in the middle there, I left his church, Calvary, thinking it was just too massive to be a good church for us. Somehow after we left downtown, his church came searching for us out in the suburbs, so there we sit each Sunday morning. Bob Coy has a talent like no other pastor, and no matter what is discovered, I hope he will still use talent for the good. I already forgave him before he knew it as I worried about my reaction if such a day came. It gives me a comfort knowing that Jesus’ disciples were not high and mighty but ordinary faulty humans like you and me, and sometimes they did and said some of the silliest of things. Nonetheless, I will always have coffee ready for Bob.

  9. Judge not lest you be judged. Pastor Bob was and is a great Pastor. Keep in mind, Bob is human and tempted as we all are. He fell. Haven’t we all at one time or another? YES.
When we fell we wanted people not to judge us but to be there for us and help lift us up.
Do unto others as you would have done unto you.

For those who believe in prayer, pray.
For those who do not believe in prayer, accept what is and move on.

    GOD will make this right.

    Amen

  10. Hey pastor bob I just wanted you to know that you left alot of people down, I looked up to you, loved to hear you preach. I moved up to central florida and I couldn’t stop bragging about what a wonderful pastor you are.I told everyone you have to see pastor bob preach he is a man of god you can see it in him.when I heard what happened I couldn’t believe it.I believe when someone like yourself has a following like you have you have to bring yourself to another level.when you hear someone preach you have feel they are guiding you to god.how can you follow a general who is weak.I know people are going to say he’s human.I understand that but when you are on a level where you were you are like a prophet and you have to step your game up.good luck pastor bob

  11. Over the years I myself have attended Calvary Ft and at times for different reasons have left and then returned. I loved Pastor Bob’s teaching and I do feel bad to what’s happened with Bob, however the more I see and read seams to be not the realalty that I saw in the day to day attitude of calvary’s teaching. If any person did what Bob himself did they would be thron out with the bath water , example Bob’s own’s brother was asked to leave. This Hypocrisy seems to be good for the Body of Christ as a whole ! The simple Truth of the Word is we need to Humble ourselfs before God and ask for forgiveness as a body of Belivers , Pastor Bob is only a Symptom of the overall problem .

  12. “Be careful when you point your finger at someone because you’ll notice you have three fingers pointing back at you.” I remember vividly the number of times CCFL Assistant Pastors and Pastor Bob preached adamantly against homosexuality and same-sex marriage. If Pastors and religious leaders were more concerned about preaching and living the love that Jesus Christ came to show and teach us on this earth and less concerned about fundamentalist theology that focuses on false piety and outward appearances, then these Pastors would “make disciples” that would heal the world instead of causing disappointment, pain, and confusion by not being able to live by their own self-imposed high standards. In the final days, everything that is hidden will come to light and every man, woman, and child will be judged by the only one capable of judging our true thoughts and actions, our Creator, who made us in His image to “love one another as He has loved us.”

  13. “Pastor Bob was and is a great Pastor.”

Seriously? Your definition of a great pastor includes the option of adultery?

I always ask myself about a man that I am thinking of for a staff position. does this man love his wife? The question has a conviction behind it. If a man does not love his wife how can he be trusted to love the bride of Christ? Thus when that love is violated and diminished by breaking the one flesh union we must begin there. The restoration of the marriage is foundational to going forward. Where it is not restorable I am without confidence that more can be done.

Really, so it’s your opinion that God forgives those who do not repent, but get caught in adultery among other things that served to cover it up while misleading the flock and his wife to enable him to continue wallowing in the pit?

Awakening in Israel—-seems to me you would like to believe this, but really the evidence reveals something entirely different, doesn’t it. Can God forgive him—sure He can but not unless there is a whole lot of movement of Mr. Coy’s part to step up to the base and do what he should have done a very long time ago—-and has yet to take place. He may have resigned and he may have agreed to receive counseling and he may have agreed to permit brothers who may or may not be in the Lord to come alongside of him, but that does not prove that he is repentant or has started the repentant process. So far, it is just lip service—yes, God knows the difference even before he admitted to being unfaithful and a liar. But to say God has forgiven him assumes on your part that Mr. Coy has done something that we have yet seen the evidence of and should not assume that we will, but rather hope and pray that he will.

In the meantime, mind your words towards those who have been hurt by him and others in the CC’s leadership. Be careful who you are throwing your pearls before and make sure you are not caught in idolizing someone who had exploited, seduce, and betrayed among the flock placed under his care and the wife who heart was broken, humiliated and forced to bare the shame that belongs to him alone.

If you truly love Mr. Coy–reframe from being such an enabler to rescue him too quickly or to let him off from having to face what is needed in order to truly have his heart changed and reconciled to her and the Lord.

  16. Alex, please delete # 14. It is a duplicate of # 15.

    Thanks you.

Oh by the way, you have mail in both locations.

  17. Linda

I wanted you to watch specifically at that point (3:45) to hear “when I was saved 3 weeks, with my business background I wanted to know how I can become an elder”part. Then he went on to sweep the grounds when he knew there would be an elder meeting so they could “see” him, etc.
I think it is very telling. I understand that in his bio he said he wanted to be a millionaire by the time he was 30.
Seems he was really on an accelerated plan to get to the top.

There are many who wonder if men do this as a business, money making move.
In the recent years it has been proven there’s a lot of Jesus money out there.

  18. Jeff
I’ve known you here for almost 4 years.
If what you are saying is true about your past (I know you joke around a lot), I am really sorry. It must have been very difficult to go through all that.

These kinds of comments really bug me. How does this one lady know what God has or has not done? Unless this was someone intimately involved with him!

What is it with these Calvary people? They always seem to be able to tell you what God is doing in your life! Even when you don’t know they know!

  19. Alex
Can you put my @17 on “Comments back on” thread. I meant to post it there. Thanks

  20. Hannah,

I understand what you wanted me to key into during the time mentioned.

As stated, it would be very difficult for me to make something more out of the humor and example that he used while speaking at a Pastors Conference. In my opinion, he took something out that keyed into how in the flesh he could be and shared the lesson, he learned (?) with other pastors, so that they could examine their own motives and check themselves on who they may be serving as well.

Now if this was also an exercise in blowing smoke to cover up what was in his heart, for many who have fallen will speak much on the very thing they are involved to give an impression that they do not practice or are not longer practicing to throw people off from suspecting them, I suppose this might be the case, but I would hesitate in jumping to this conclusion from watching a short clip.

    A short note:

It is par for the course for narcissistically oriented people to ingratiate themselves upon others by doing nice things for people who they know will stand behind them should anyone try to pull their cover or to begin the process of seduction. For those they have harmed, the real person that they are will be quite the opposite of the humble godly person that others know them to be. When this person is found out then, it is most difficult for those they have duped to believe that this person is as corrupted as what their wrong doings evidenced. Being so, the propensity to be more graceful and forgiving towards them is very prevalent due to not wanting to make them all bad and remembering how giving and generous this person was, at least in their minds, not knowing the giving and generosity was more of a smokescreen to enable themselves to lead them or be placed in a position of authority. The truth: they never care for anyone other than themselves and everything they did and everyone they hooked were simply objects to be used to gain attention, control, power, and adulation. The truth: the person led a double-triple lifestyle most likely too afraid and too caught up in their own fantasies and lies to any longer recognize or come to grip with their denial and the defense mechanisms they have used to get what they needed without having to vest anything of themselves or to suffer the consequences of the hurt and guilt/sham that they project and acted out upon others.
