  1. Day of Prayer and Fasting-9/29/2010

Psalm 5:3 Morning by morning , O LORD, you hear my voice; morning by morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.

Prayer and fasting is our most important “work” as believers.
It is a selfless act of helping the helpless, seeing Gods purposes come to pass, and thwarting the strategies of Satan. God is moving behind the scenes, and takes notice and responds to us when we sacrifice oursleves in prayer and fasting.

Whenever Moses held up his staff, Israel won their battles. But when he lowered the staff, the enemy had the advantage. (see Exodus 17) God acts in response to the prayers of his intercessors, supernaturally enabling those He has called to accomplish His assigned task.Moses’ part in the victory, though unseen and unnoticed by those in the battle was vital to the outcome.
Our role in the wordk of God may be unnoticed, unseen. But like Moses, God calls us to “hold up the staff of God”-to pray.

1 Samuel 12:23 “As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you”

    Prayer is a holy work.

Lord, we come before You today thanking You for Who You are. You are the Wonderful Creator of this universe. You hold this world in the palm of Your hand. Nothing is too difficult for you Lord. Your works are too numerous for our minds to grasp. We are in awe of your majesty.
    Job 38:1
    1 Chronicles 29:10-13
    Psalm 19:1-2

We confess our own sinfulness before you Lord. Like Isaiah, Your glory causes us to say to You “woe unto me, for I am unclean (Isaiah 6:5). We fall so short of Your glory.
We take these moments to look within ourselves and confess our sins before You today. We have had attitudes that are wrong. Please make us aware of those hidden sins that You see, that we have not dealt with. (take a few moments for this) We confess these to you.(Take a few moments to confess)

We thank You Lord, that the blood of Jesus has covered our sins. as David said “Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven (Psalm 32:1) We thank You for forgiving us of the sins we have just confessed. Your love for us lets us know God that You are a good God. Your goodness carries us through our day, when we ponder this forgiveness we do not deserve.
Thank you God for all the blessings You have given us. You have answered our prayers before. Thank You for all the blessings we don’t even see, such as our adoption as Your children, our future in heaven, the ministering angels You have given each of us, the new bodies we will have for eternity, and the Holy Spirit You have given us to be our help here on earth.

We now bring our requestas before You. Jesus tells us in Your Word what to ask for.
We pray first for ourseves. That we will grow in the likeness of our Lord Jesus Christ..our Savior and Messiah. For our children; that they have a true love for You. That You will bless this community here, that we would have unity in vision and in heart. We pray that we will all have a desire to please You rather than ourselves.

We pray for the church leadership, for a desire for personal holiness
    Hebrews 17:1, 1 Timothy 5:17.

Lord, we pray that you would convict anyone who is sinning against You, who is a believer, of the error in their lives. Let there be nothing covered that will not be revealed and hidden that will not be known (Matthew 10:26). Help him to recognize his mistakes. Give him eyes to see Your truth and ears to hear Your voice. Bring him to full repentence before You. If there is suffering to be done, let it be the suffering of a remorseful heart and not because the enemy has found an opening into his life through unconfessed sin. Humility comes before honor, so Lord, take away all the pride that would cause him to deny his sins and work humility into hid heart so he will receive the honor You have for him.

He who covers his sin will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them sill have mercy. Proverbs 28:13

Search me O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if ther is any wicked way in me, and lead me to the way everlasting. (Psalm 139:23,24
    Psalm 32:3-5
    2 Timothy 2:24-26

From Chuck Smith’s book “Why Grace Changes Everything”:

“I longed to see that kind of power evident in my own life and ministry. Therefore, I began earnestly to seek God with fasting and prayer out in the Tucson desert. I would take off alone to wait on the Lord with only a jug of water, a Bible, and a notebook for the company. I begged God for His blessing, His power, and His annointing on my life. After a round of such spiritual discipline, I would work up a sense of excitement, believing that God was about to bless our church because I had fasted and prayed.I could hardly wait for the next service to see what God was going to do.
Unfortunately, I grew so weak from the fasting that by Sunday I could hardly stand up behind the pulpit. My mind would wander so much that I could barely present a coherent message. The people would fall asleep and would feel devastated. here I had expected a trememdous move of God…and instead, a chorus of snoring broke out. I would get angy and think “But God, haven;’t You seen how I have just fasted and prayed? Surely You ought to bless this church-and me too while Your at it!”
I did not understand at the time that my fasting and praying were attempts to obligate God, to force Him to do what I wanted. I thought if people could just see the miracles like those described in the book of Acts, they would be convinced about he reality of Jesus Christ.
But later I discovered that the ultimate witness we can offer the world is the love that we have for one another, a love that flows from the very heart of God Himself. Conforming to rules and regulations simply can’t produce that kind of love relationship. We can try and impose the law on our relationships, but God’s love is the only way to gain the stability and security we long for. The Bible tells us that love is the fulfillment of the law. In fact, when asked what is the greatest commandent, Jesus replied that it was to love the Lord with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourself. Love, not the law, is the key to our relationship with God and with one another” Pages 9-11

May love have it’s perfect work in us today.
Lord we love You, we honor You, we praise Your holy name.
Thank You Lord for this day.
Please hear the cries of our hearts as we seek you in spirit and in truth.
Please hear the cries of our brother Alex today, whose heart is heavy and burdened, and seeking the truth
We pray You will reveal the darkness.
In the precious name of our Lord, Amen

  2. I just left a very lengthy post here for the prayer and fasting today that may have gotten lost in cyberspace.

  3. I worked on it an hour and have to now leave, so I hope it can be retrieved.
If so, then delete these. it had many verses.

  4. I’ll be praying for Alex, and the themes of discussion for the past few days…….

  5. Praying this day for Alex and his brothers

  6. Praying for Alex and his brothers as well as everyone here who has a need.

  7. Praying this morning with you all. Hannah, thank you for making this a priority for us.

  8. Your original Prayer post is unclogged. The multiple verses/links got it stuck in the spam filter.

  9. God I pray your will is done in this situation.

I pray for my Mom and brothers and even for Bob, that he’ll come clean and truly repent.

I pray for the attitudes and hearts of Chuck Smith and Calvary Chapel, that one of “Refuse Collector” will be changed to one of compassion for those who have been hurt by Calvary Chapel Pastors and situations. May they model the heart of Jesus who would never see this blog or any of us as part of a “Refuse Collector” but as hurt saints and sinners who need the Reconciliation and Truth your Word promises…instead of the cold Stone Wall of CC.

I pray that justice and accountability for Church Leadership be done, following your instructions from your servant Paul the Apostle.

I pray you have mercy on me a sinner. I am guilty of so much sin myself. Convict me of sin, give me the gift of repentance and give me belief in your Son Jesus Christ our Messiah.

Again, your will be done. Praise and glory to you, my Good Father.

  10. Alex,
    Amen to your post.

  11. Lord Jesus,

I praise You! You were there when the 4 corners of the Earth were laid. You are the great “I AM.”

You, Lord, know all truth. Nothing is hidden from You.

I ask, Lord, for You to give Bob Grenier the gift of repentance, the grace to be able to face the truth. Bob, like us, is a man and you know we are all made of dust. We are weak and facing sin is frightening and devastating, unless Your Holy Spirit empowers us.

As a “hail Mary pass,” I ask You to please empower Bob Grenier to repent fully and completely. Please give him a gift of being able to “see” and a gift of his heart being able to understand.

  12. I also lift up Chuck Smith. Please bless Chuck with a renewed sense of compassion, a renewed understanding of how he should love You, as evidenced in how he loves Alex in this specific situation. May he be able to hear his own writing -as well the words of You, Lord Jesus- in a fresh way with real understanding. May the Holy Spirit guide him into all truth, enable him to love a real love, and empower him to action that pleases You.

Chuck’s words from his book, “Why Grace Changes Everything”
“… The Bible tells us that love is the fulfillment of the law. In fact, when asked what is the greatest commandment, Jesus replied that it was to love the Lord with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love our neighbor as yourself. Love, not the law, is the key to our relationship with God and with one another” (Pages 9-11)

Please bless Chuck with this “key”, Lord.

  13. Father, we have such limited understanding, yet, you’ve still asked us to act on some things, such as warning the church when one is unrepentant. Because You tell us to do this and we are trying to walk in obedience, please empower us.

Please give us Your mind on the matter.
    Please give us Your wisdom
Please help us to stay open to our own sins
Please empower us to be able to repent quickly and completely
Please help us to be gentle where You would have us be
Please help us to have a back bone for truth, where it is necessary
Please help each of us to be focused on what You would have for each of us and the unique way you have made each of us.
Please help us to honor You in our pursuit of warning the church
Please help Alex to follow Your leading
Please give Alex the tools needed to be obedient to You, Lord

  14. We lift up Alex and his family to You, Father God.

Lord you are the Great Healer! Only You can mend our brokenness and use it for Your glory. Please heal any remaining open wounds.

We ask for protection for Alex, his wife, and their children, and Alex’s brothers throughout this process. Please protect them from the enemy that wants to seek, kill and destroy them.

Please carry the hearts of Alex’s children in Your hands. Father, you know how the loss of grandparents leaves a hole in children’s hearts. You know the lack they experience. You know how this affects them, even when they cannot express it. Jesus, please be close to these children and use this suffering for Your good. And please meet their needs.

  15. Father God,

We lift up Geoff and Paul and Robert to you. You know what they’ve each gone through. You know the positions they find themselves in today as a result.

We ask You to please bless them with Your love. Please touch them where they are hurt, in areas they can’t control and meet them right where they are now.

We ask for all false notions of You, as “caught” in their youth, be removed. Please bless them.

Thank You for each of these men, whom You carefully knit together, and whom You made with value and purpose.

  16. Lord, may only Your will be done.

Please thwart anything that is misguided and bless all that will bring You glory and accomplish Your purposes.

Please help all of us to be able to align with Your will and to play our individual parts, as you have designed each of us to do. May Your power work through our weaknesses.

2Corinthians 12:9, “… ‘My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.’ So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.”

  17. We pray this in the powerful name of JESUS CHRIST, The Son of God, Messiah, Jehovah Jirah – Our Provider.

  18. Hannah, thanks for setting this up and for the Intro at the beginning. I worked through that slowly and found it meaningful and good preparation.

I know this isn’t a very good “closet” for praying, but I have often found it helpful to pray along with others this way in the past. So for those who wanted to pray along, hope this was helpful. For those who didn’t, hope your “closet” time was a good one!

  19. Grateful,

Agreement with you in lifting the entire Grenier family in prayer today.
May they have a special touch of God’s love today.

“We ask for protection for Alex, his wife, and their children, and Alex’s brothers throughout this process. Please protect them from the enemy that wants to seek, kill and destroy them.” “We lift up Geoff and Paul and Robert to you. You know what they’ve each gone through. You know the positions they find themselves in today as a result. ”

Thank you Lord for the protection You Have given the Grenier children. What Satan meant for harm, you will use for good. Thank you for giving Alex the strength to go forward with this battle. We ask for victory and for an outcome that would glorify Your name. Lord, you know from the depths of Alex’s heart what his needs are. Please Lord, grant him the peace of knowing that You will answer the desires of his heart. Help him to wait patiently.

  20. “I also lift up Chuck Smith. Please bless Chuck with a renewed sense of compassion, a renewed understanding of how he should love You, as evidenced in how he loves Alex in this specific situation. ”

Lord, know that those who are Yours, follow You. Please take away any bitterness that Mr Smith may have towards this situation, and please speak to his heart about the committment he made to contact Alex.

  21. “I ask, Lord, for You to give Bob Grenier the gift of repentance, the grace to be able to face the truth. Bob, like us, is a man and you know we are all made of dust. We are weak and facing sin is frightening and devastating, unless Your Holy Spirit empowers us.”

Lord, please free Bob Grenier from the burden of withholding the truth all these years. Nothing is hidden from Your sight. All of our sins are forgiven with repentence. Please restore him to You through confession. Those whom the Son sets free are free indeed.

  22. “Those whom the Son sets free are free indeed.”

Amen. Please free us all, Lord.

  23. Father, I pray for myself, first of all. Please heal my heart and replace the bitterness with love. And also the same for the rest of my brothers and sisters here. You know my struggles, Lord. I can’t do it myself, I need a miracle.

Secondly, I pray for CC and it’s leadership. Soften their hearts, replace their authoritarianism with a heart of love and servitude. Give them compassion. Open their eyes to the arrogance that has replaced compassion.

Thirdly, for Bob G. and his followers. Open their eyes to their loyalties. Give them wisdom. Stop the abuse and all the pain that has been caused. Remove the demonic oppression that is over CCV.

Thank you, Lord, for your mercy and grace to me. I don’t deserve any of it. In Jesus Name.

  24. ending the evening in prayer.

  25. Thank you for joining in Jlo.
It was a very hard day for me. I don’t know how it was for you.
I had a migraine all day. I felt the opposition. We are battling a real enemy.

  26. Jeremiah 10:23

Lord, please direct our steps.Lead us in Your way, teach us Your truth so we can walk in Your truth. May Your presence be something we desire and need throughout our day, every day, every hour, every minute.

Reveal in each of us, those hidden sins, and help us to quickly confess them to You. And when we sin against others, help us to quickly confess them to one another. Reveal the sins that seperate us from You. You say that when we are in the flesh, we cannot please You. (Romans 8:8), so help us to walk in the Spirit, and keep us from the path of the destroyer (Psalm 17:4)

Help us to bear the fruit of the Spirit in our lives (Galatians 5:22,23)
Keep us on the path towards holiness.

    Please hear our cries.
Thank you Jesus, for being at the right hand of the Father in heaven, living to make intercession for us.

Create in us a clean heart.

  27. Music plays a big role in my life. Each week I post praise and worship for those who drop by to listen to. There are times God uses music to calm the soul. Feel free to drop by and listen. God bless. Allan

  28. Father God,I thank you for another day you give us breath, to love and serve you.
My heart is burdened for the fathers here today.
    Fatherhood is such a responsibility.
Please be their Father, and guide and direct them to be the spiritual head of their homes.
This can only be done through Your Holy Spirit.
Help them to get before you on their knees, to seek You with their whole hearts.
Please tear down the walls of indifference-remove the idols whether it be television, computer, iphone, work, sports… anything that takes away time spent with you.
Help them to see their family as priority.
Thank you for the movie “Courageous.”
I pray that any father who is sees it, will have a transformed life.
I pray for the fathers who don’t know you as Lord and Savior, who have been taken to this movie by a friend or a Christian who has been praying for them.
Please use this movie to save hurting souls who have no hope.
I pray that Christians would support this movie, and it will stay in the theatres, so many fatehrs who are spiritually lost, can find hope in You for their lives.
Praying for a special touch of Your love on all the fathers here today.
    Please transform our families.
In the name of Your precious son, Jesus.

  29. Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with precious and pleasant riches.

    Proverbs 24:3,4

  30. Lord, please meet the victims of the Penn State child abuse situation where they are at. Please draw them to Yourself, may they know Your salvation, Your peace that is beyond understanding, and may they be emotionally healed from the inside out by You.

I also pray that the lesson of who is responsible and what people are supposed to do in these situations will be made clear, and appropriately applied where these lessons fit.

  31. Pray that a Documentary exposing the other side of Chuck Smith and Calvary Chapel and “Touch not God’s Anointed” gets done. I believe it’s going to happen. I’m asking God for it to happen.

The person considering it has already produced two documentaries and is Emmy-nominated.

  32. Alex-

    That is really good news.
I will be praying for this project.

  33. Alex- Will you be having any control over this documentary?
I have been praying about this project since yesterday and David Di Sabbatino’s documentary on Lonnie Frisbee came to mind.
Some were disappointed that the end became a political statement, so if you are to be involved, something to keep that in mind.

  34. I pray that the floodlights blaze even brighter, that the switch is turned on in every corner, every nook and cranny, every closet emptied out and all made evident, Lord…You said that judgement would begin in your house…only then can we, the Church, truly be a beacon on a hill– a beacon that doesn’t even need to speak for the light speaks for itself.
May the light of exposure lead to repentance– giving way to the light of holiness– so that we can truly be the testament of light (hope, purity, and redemption) to the world.

  35. Charles Spurgeon

    July 14
    Burdens Cast on Him

Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee; he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. (Psalm 55:22)
It is a heavy burden; roll it on Omnipotence. It is thy burden now, and it crushes thee; but when the Lord takes it, He will make nothing of it. If thou art called still to bear, “he will sustain thee.” It will be on Him and not on thee. Thou wilt be so upheld under it that the burden will be a blessing. Bring the Lord into the matter, and thou wilt stand upright under that which in itself would bow thee down.

Our worst fear is lest our trial should drive us from the path of duty; but this the Lord will never suffer. If we are righteous before Him, He will not endure that our affliction should move us from our standing. In Jesus He accepts us as righteous, and in Jesus He will keep us so.

What about the present moment? Art thou going forth to this day’s trial alone? Are thy poor shoulders again to be galled with the oppressive load? Be not so foolish. Tell the Lord all about thy grief and leave it with Him. Don’t cast your burden down and then take it up again; but roll it on the Lord and leave it there. Then shalt thou walk at large, a joyful and unburdened believer, singing the praises of thy great Burden-bearer.
    _______________________________________________

Lord, we are burdened for the lost. We are burdened for this present world and all it’s affliction, we are burdened for our personal losses, the triumphs that turned into failures, the children we claimed for you that do not walk with you.
We are burdened for the church. For your people. Please send a revival into the hearts of the wayward. Send a revival of your Spirit into each one of us today. We are all needing of this greater power of surrender to You. We surrender our ways to Yours. We surrender our will to Yours. We hold onto control when it is You that controls all things. Help us to know this. Bring full repentence into the hearts of those who are still holding on to their sins. Set the captives free. We are reminded of the work of Your hands. The creation around us. The majesty of this universe. Nothing is too difficult for you Lord. Thank you for the salvation that you freely gave us, for the cross and the blood that covers all sin. Thank you that we were not worthy enough, but Jesus was. Help us to remember the price He paid for us to be free. Thank you Lord for this day. Please hear our prayers to save the lost loved ones in our family. To bring them out of this present darkness into the light of life in You. Help us to fulfill the great commissiona s those around us leave this world with no hope for the future. Let us see every heart as one who needs to know You and by Your Spirit, share the gospel to them. Help us not get so caught up in evil, that we miss opportunities to serve you and use the gifts you have given us. Thank you for Lord, for hearing the prayers of our hearts. Amen

  36. Fool Me Once,

Our enemy Satan can hear any verbal prayer we say at ease. With your reasoning all prayers should be silent non verbal ones. Doesn’t make any sense at all.

    This Morning’s Meditation
    C. H. Spurgeon

    ——————————————————————————–

“He arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights.”—1 Kings 19:8.
The strength supplied to us by our gracious God is meant for service, not for wantonness or boasting. When the prophet Elijah found the cake baked on the coals, and the cruse of water placed at his head, as he lay under the juniper tree, he was no gentleman to be gratified with dainty fare that he might stretch himself at his ease; far otherwise, he was commissioned to go forty days and forty nights in the strength of it, journeying towards Horeb, the mount of God. When the Master invited the disciples to “Come and dine” with Him, after the feast was concluded He said to Peter, “Feed my sheep”; further adding, “Follow me.” Even thus it is with us; we eat the bread of heaven, that we may expend our strength in the Master’s service. We come to the passover, and eat of the paschal lamb with loins girt, and staff in hand, so as to start off at once when we have satisfied our hunger. Some Christians are for living on Christ, but are not so anxious to live for Christ. Earth should be a preparation for heaven; and heaven is the place where saints feast most and work most. They sit down at the table of our Lord, and they serve Him day and night in His temple. They eat of heavenly food and render perfect service. Believer, in the strength you daily gain from Christ labour for Him. Some of us have yet to learn much concerning the design of our Lord in giving us His grace. We are not to retain the precious grains of truth as the Egyptian mummy held the wheat for ages, without giving it an opportunity to grow: we must sow it and water it. Why does the Lord send down the rain upon the thirsty earth, and give the genial sunshine? Is it not that these may all help the fruits of the earth to yield food for man? Even so the Lord feeds and refreshes our souls that we may afterwards use our renewed strength in the promotion of His glory.

  38. If My People Pray (Avalon)

Now is the season for healing
    Deeply we need to see
    God’s mercy revealing
Where we have fallen from His way

For we know he gives hope to the humble
Gives the light in the darkness and grace when we stumble
Let us call on His name together
    Knowing He will say

If my people pray and reach for me with hearts that are broken
I will not forget what I’ve spoken come and seek my face
And Heaven will rain, rivers of my grace overflowing
Night and day my ears will be open, if my people pray

Now is the day to awaken
To pray with conviction for the souls of the nation
So let us call on His name who’s faithful
    Promise still remains

If my people pray and reach for me with hearts that are broken
I will not forget what I’ve spoken come and seek my face
And Heaven will rain, rivers of my grace overflowing
Night and day my ears will be open, if my people pray

Let us not grow weary as we wait for the day
When the light turns the night into morning
On our knees, calling Your name as we lift our hearts to Heaven, yeah
    Knowing you will say

If my people pray and reach for me with hearts that are broken
I will not forget what I’ve spoken, no no, come and seek my face
And Heaven will rain, rivers of my grace overflowing
Night and day my ears will be open, if my people pray
Night and day my ears will be open, if my people pray

Call by my name, oh how about himself?

  39. Hannah, Praying for you and your mom.

Please forgive me for not being more sensitive to your needs of prayer. I know from recent experience that the prayers of other saints bring a needed comfort.

I’ve been thinking of your call to prayer on the other thread, my guess would be that people are praying for this situation, but are reluctant to post that they are. Possibly because of the nature of the blog, possibly because of past abuse, who really knows for sure? What I do know is that the regulars who post here are in communion with God on a daily basis, you can see it in their posts.

You know I read and occasionally post over at PxP, because that blog is designed more for community needs, I think it is more conducive to prayer activity. While this blog is designed to bring to light abuse in the church, I think it makes it more difficult to pray together. Not that either is better than the other, or that either should emulate the other, it just is what it is, each serving a different purpose. If you are looking for more community I would encourage you to post at PxP. I will meet you there on the prayer thread. Love to you dear sister.

  40. Prayers are very appreciated.

Please pray over this evening and over the weekend as you think of this stuff. I don’t want to disclose anything, but pray, God knows what it is.

    Faith’s Check Book, Daily Entry
    C. H. Spurgeon

    ——————————————————————————–

    October 26
    Because of Us

For the elect’s sake those days be shortened. (Matthew 24:22)
For the sake of His elect the Lord withholds many judgments and shortens others. In great tribulations the fire would devour all were it not that Out of regard to His elect the Lord damps the flame. Thus, while He saves His elect for the sake of Jesus, He also preserves the race for the sake of His chosen.

What an honor is thus put upon saints! How diligently they ought to use their influence with their Lord! He will hear their prayers for sinners and bless their efforts for their salvation. He blesses believers that they may be a blessing to those who are in unbelief. Many a sinner lives because of the prayers of a mother, or wife, or daughter to whom the Lord has respect.

Have we used aright the singular power with which the Lord entrusts us? Do we pray for our country, for other lands, and for the age? Do we, in times of war, famine, pestilence, stand out as intercessors, pleading that the days may be shortened? Do we lament before God the outbursts of infidelity, error, and licentiousness? Do we beseech our Lord Jesus to shorten the reign of sin by hastening His own glorious appearing? Let us get to our knees and never rest till Christ appeareth.

    Praying.

  42. Hannah, I prayed for your Mom tonight and for you for strength. Your courage and heart for Jesus are a blessing.

This lawsuit has brought up a lot of emotion in us all and I am praying that that emotion leads us all to continue to cry out to Jesus because He is our Advocate. He is close to the brokenhearted and hears the cry of the humble so I am praying that we would continue to walk in humility and I am praying for our hearts that no bitterness would creep in and that we would put the Lord first in everything and cast our cares on Him because He cares for us. I am praying for peace on this forum and that the love of Jesus and love for the Church would be first on every heart. I pray for a transformation of the hearts of anyone worldwide and nationwide who has taken the role of a shepherd but is hurting God’s flock, but if transformation is resisted I pray that the eyes of people every where be opened so that they can see things exactly as they are and walk away if need be. I pray for a powerful move of the Holy Spirit in this nation and that Christians would desire to study God’s Word and be taught by the Holy Spirit and hide the Word in their hearts.

Most of all I pray that our actions and hearts would be found pleasing to our Lord and that we would be a good example so that anyone who says anything evil will have no basis for what they have to say.

I pray all of this in Jesus’ name
    Amen

  43. Overly Concerned

Thank you for your prayers. May Jesus, our Good Shepherd pour His love out on each of us, so we are overflowing with this love to reach the lost; love those who are unworthy, as we were once unworthy, and only through Christ are now worthy.
Praying fervently for Alex and his family.

    This Morning’s Meditation
    C. H. Spurgeon

    ——————————————————————————–

    “It is a faithful saying.”—2 Timothy 2:11.
AUL has four of these “faithful sayings.” The first occurs in 1 Timothy 1:15, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” The next is in 1 Timothy 4:6, “Godliness is profitable unto all things, having the promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation.” The third is in 2 Timothy 2:12, “It is a faithful saying—If we suffer with Him we shall also reign with Him”; and the fourth is in Titus 3:3, “This is a faithful saying, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works.” We may trace a connection between these faithful sayings. The first one lays the foundation of our eternal salvation in the free grace of God, as shown to us in the mission of the great Redeemer. The next affirms the double blessedness which we obtain through this salvation—the blessings of the upper and nether springs—of time and of eternity. The third shows one of the duties to which the chosen people are called; we are ordained to suffer for Christ with the promise that “if we suffer, we shall also reign with Him.” The last sets forth the active form of Christian service, bidding us diligently to maintain good works. Thus we have the root of salvation in free grace; next, the privileges of that salvation in the life which now is, and in that which is to come; and we have also the two great branches of suffering with Christ and serving with Christ, loaded with the fruits of the Spirit. Treasure up these faithful sayings. Let them be the guides of our life, our comfort, and our instruction. The apostle of the Gentiles proved them to be faithful, they are faithful still, not one word shall fall to the ground; they are worthy of all acceptation, let us accept them now, and prove their faithfulness. Let these four faithful sayings be written on the four corners of My house.

  46. Hannah just wanted to say you are loved! You were an encouragement to me in the past.

Heavenly Father, my prayer is that you would hear the cries of your people, that you would heal the broken hearted, that you would draw the outcast close to you. Lord you are not asleep and your eyes have seen much injustice in Your church in all denominations. It is sad that there are such things as denominations, we really are just one big family. Lord bring peace, hope, and restoration in this situation. I pray specifically for Bob. You created him and love him, so only you can change him. We are asking you for a miracle. If you are willing Lord, would you make the blind man see? Would you change the heart of stone to flesh? We pray for your will Lord, not our will. I also pray for Alex and Tim. I pray you would strenghthen him with power and wisdom. I pray that my brothers and sisters in Christ would show so much support financially and in prayer that in would make a difference for your kingdom. We must not allow your church to be a place of abuse. Never. Please come down in our midst and make your presence known and felt. Your people need you. Amen

  47. Tina@I pray specifically for Bob. You created him and love him, so only you can change him. We are asking you for a miracle. If you are willing Lord, would you make the blind man see? Would you change the heart of stone to flesh? We pray for your will Lord, not our will.

Tina, That is what I am praying for. Tina, Your expression is the heart of our Lord. With all your pain, you know that God still loves his creation, and still loves Bob, as He loves us all. That is the sacrifice we make when we ask for prayer for someone who has harmed us. Not our will…putting aside our own ambitions for His greater purpose.

His mercies are new every day. Thank you Jesus that you did what we cannot do. Live a perfect life. Please touch the hearts of Alex’s family. When all the distractions of this unredeemed earth fade away, there will only be You in power. There will be no more sin-there will be no more suffering. We long to live in perfect peace with You Lord. Please help us all to see You in all things. We have a flesh that wars against our Spirit. Holy Spirit, help us to surrender to Your will. We can only do this through Christ as our Lord.
Please touch us all. I know Jesus that you are in heaven at the right hand of the Father right now interceding for Alex- his family, and all of us. You hear our cries. Thank you Lord for loving us all and hearing our prayers. We are not worthy of you. And in our unworthiness, You hear our cries from heaven. We cry Holy, holy holy is the Lord.

  48. Amen!

  49. Lord, You know all things. You know what Alex is dealing with this weekend. You know what He needs. We ask for Your will to be done.

In the name of Jesus, may all that is evil in this situation be restrained and unable to bring destruction, unable to deceive, unable to goad people into following that which is evil.

For Your name’s sake, Jesus, we ask that You bring Your Light into this situation and reveal those things which are hidden, but need to be revealed. May Your Name be cleared of wrongdoing that has been cloaked as “Your will.”

Please strengthen Alex, his wife, Not Alone, and all those who are targeted.

Please protect all of us who’ve spoken out, and may our voices be heard for Your name’s sake.

We don’t ask for revenge, but for Your will to be done. We do ask for the miracle of the stone heart turned to flesh in BG, as well as others involved.

  50. Today my prayer is that we all remain responsive to the Holy Spirit and are filled with wisdom so that we will have great clarity regarding the issues discussed on this site. I pray for anyone drifiting on to this site for the first time who knows Jesus, to hear clearly what the Spirit is saying and to know how it impacts their part in all of this. If there are people who are supposed to be praying continually about all of this then my prayer is that they are obedient to that call. If there are people who are to speak out and warn others, then I pray that God gives them boldness to do so. If there are people who need to break associations with CC and other organizations that are hurting people, then I pray they will be able to do so without a problem. I pray protection over Alex and his family and over every individual and family represented by the regulars on this site. I pray that no weapon formed against any of us will prosper and any tongue that rises against us in judgment will be condemned. I pray for unbelievers coming to this site as well, especially anyone who may believe that they are a Christian, because of their position in a church, yet have no actual relationship with Jesus. I pray for grace for them and that God would soften their hearts so that they see that Jesus is the only way to salvation and that in brokenness and sincere repentance they cry out to Him to be truly born again. I pray for continued healing for all of us who have been hurt by unrighteous men. I pray that God restores peace to those who may have given their peace away and that He makes all areas of our lives whole. I pray for true Christian fellowship for those who are having a hard time trusting people after being hurt. I pray that the Holy Spirit will give everyone levels of discernment they have never had before and that God’s grace would be so strong in the lives of the believers here that even when they meet people who are living a lie, the grace in their lives will transform those people. I pray for faith so strong that nothing can break it down. Most of all I pray that we all realize the extent of God’s love and faithfulness to us and that we give Him all the glory He deserves.

    In Jesus name,
    Amen

  51. Overly Concerned,

    Evening, October 31
    C.S. Spurgeon

“I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.”

    Hosea 13:5

Yes, Lord, thou didst indeed know me in my fallen state, and thou didst even then choose me for thyself. When I was loathsome and self-abhorred, thou didst receive me as thy child, and thou didst satisfy my craving wants. Blessed forever be thy name for this free, rich, abounding mercy. Since then, my inward experience has often been a wilderness; but thou hast owned me still as thy beloved, and poured streams of love and grace into me to gladden me, and make me fruitful. Yea, when my outward circumstances have been at the worst, and I have wandered in a land of drought, thy sweet presence has solaced me. Men have not known me when scorn has awaited me, but thou hast known my soul in adversities, for no affliction dims the lustre of thy love. Most gracious Lord, I magnify thee for all thy faithfulness to me in trying circumstances, and I deplore that I should at any time have forgotten thee and been exalted in heart, when I have owed all to thy gentleness and love. Have mercy upon thy servant in this thing!

My soul, if Jesus thus acknowledged thee in thy low estate, be sure that thou own both himself and his cause now that thou art in thy prosperity. Be not lifted up by thy worldly successes so as to be ashamed of the truth or of the poor church with which thou hast been associated. Follow Jesus into the wilderness: bear the cross with him when the heat of persecution grows hot. He owned thee, O my soul, in thy poverty and shame—never be so treacherous as to be ashamed of him. O for more shame at the thought of being ashamed of my best Beloved! Jesus, my soul cleaveth to thee.

“I’ll turn to thee in days of light,

As well as nights of care,

Thou brightest amid all that’s bright!

    Thou fairest of the fair!”

  53. In His precious wondrous and beautiful name, Jesus—–Amen.

    This Morning’s Meditation
    C. H. Spurgeon

    ——————————————————————————–

“The Church in thy house.”—Philemon 2.
S there a Church in this house? Are parents, children, friends, servants, all members of it? or are some still unconverted? Let us pause here and let the question go round—Am I a member of the Church in this house? How would father’s heart leap for joy, and mother’s eyes fill with holy tears if from the eldest to the youngest all were saved! Let us pray for this great mercy until the Lord shall grant it to us. Probably it had been the dearest object of Philemon’s desires to have all his household saved; but it was not at first granted him in its fulness. He had a wicked servant, Onesimus, who, having wronged him, ran away from his service. His master’s prayers followed him, and at last, as God would have it, Onesimus was led to hear Paul preach; his heart was touched, and he returned to Philemon, not only to be a faithful servant, but a brother beloved, adding another member to the Church in Philemon’s house. Is there an unconverted servant or child absent this morning? Make special supplication that such may, on their return to their home, gladden all hearts with good news of what grace has done! Is there one present? Let him partake in the same earnest entreaty.
If there be such a Church in our house, let us order it well, and let all act as in the sight of God. Let us move in the common affairs of life with studied holiness, diligence, kindness, and integrity. More is expected of a Church than of an ordinary household; family worship must, in such a case, be more devout and hearty; internal love must be more warm and unbroken, and external conduct must be more sanctified and Christlike. We need not fear that the smallness of our number will put us out of the list of Churches, for the Holy Spirit has here enrolled a family-church in the inspired book of remembrance. As a Church let us now draw nigh to the great head of the one Church universal, and let us beseech Him to give us grace to shine before men to the glory of His name

  55. Amen!

Today my prayer is that everyone who loves the Lord Jesus with sincerity would be such a beautiful example of what our Savior looks like that people will see our good works and give glory to God. I pray that because of the outcome of the upcoming trial and because of all the other things the Lord is doing in and through His people, that honor will be brought to His name and a declaration will be made to the world that “Jesus is Lord” and that He is good and that He has given His people the opportunity to walk as He walked through the Holy Spirit at work in each of us. I pray that we will live lives that are abundant in the fruit of the Spirit:filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. I pray that we will have great boldness to speak the truth in love and to reflect the character of Christ in all that we do even if it means being unpopular.

I pray for those who do not know Jesus. I pray that their hearts will hunger and thirst for righteousness and that they will be blessed to be filled. I pray that the world will not count the actions of evil men against God or against the Church but instead will know that even those actions are proof that there is an adversary that we are facing (the devil) and that people will turn to Jesus for salvation and will accept everything else that comes along with being a child of God: peace that passes understanding, joy unspeakable and full of glory, love that has infinite heights and depths, grace and mercy and truth and even trials but the knowledge that our God never leaves nor forsakes us.

I pray specifically for Alex and his brothers and for witnesses to come forth boldly and share what they have seen regarding all the brothers faced and what they have seen reagrding the character of the leadership in the CC movement. I pray for salvation for everyone involved. I pray that by the end of this hearts would be so so humbled that anyone who has held on to their own declaration of righteousness will accept the righteousness that only comes through Jesus and will choose to live in that place of righteousness even if it means losing personal fame or authority.

But once again more than anything else I pray that God would be glorified and His name spoken highly of on the earth because of this. I pray that faithlessness will be replaced with faith and that hearts would be drawn to the true and living God and there would be a nationwide display of His glory.

    In Jesus’ Name
    Amen

    November 6
    Delight and Desires

Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. (Psalm37:4)
Delight in God has a transforming power and lifts a man above the gross desire of our fallen nature. Delight in Jehovah is not only sweet in itself, but it sweetens the whole soul, till the longings of the heart become such that the Lord can safely promise to fulfill them. Is not that a grand delight which molds our desires till they are like the desires of God?

Our foolish way is to desire and then set to work to compass what we desire. We do not go to work in God’s way, which is to seek Him first and then expect all things to be added unto us. If we will let our heart be filled with God till it runs over with delight, then the Lord Himself will take care that we shall not want any good thing. Instead of going abroad for joys let us stay at home with God and drink waters out of our own fountain. He can do for us far more than all our friends. It is better to be content with God alone than to go about fretting and pining for the paltry trifles of time and sense. For a while we may have disappointments; but if these bring us nearer to the Lord, they are things to be prized exceedingly, for they will in the end secure to us the fulfillment of all our right desires.

  61. Lord, we lift up our unsaved family members to You , for You to work in their hearts and through Your Spirit, reveal Yourself to them.
As the holidays are approaching and we are spending more time with unsaved family, please open their hearts to the gospel of Your Son Jesus Christ, and the power of the resurrection from death to life.
Whether they are in a religious system that adheres to the traditions of man, or lost in athiesm and do not see the wonder of Your creation, create a spark of light in their souls, that they may see their need for you and their need for a Savior to rescue them from their sins.
Reveal to them their sin, their seperateness from You. That their “good works” are not enough to be reconciled to You. Help us all to be witnesses for You in love. Help us to love the unloved. To be examples of Your Son in word and deed.
Help us to be selfless and look upon others as souls that are lost in need of your living water.
Please Lord, have mercy on us undeserving sinners, and our unsaved famly. We thank you for hearing our cries. We thank you for every obstacle that can become a path to righteousness that gives us hope for our eternal security in You.
    In His precious blood. Amen

  62. Please pray for a friend on this blog. God knows the issue.

  63. Praying.

  64. Paul’s prays for the believers in II Corinthians:

” Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, through we be reprobates.” (II Corinthians 13:7)

    In Philippians

“And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment.” (Philippians 1:9)

    In Colossians

“For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;” (Colossians 1:9)

    In I Thessalonians

“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly, and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (I Thessalonians 5:23)

    In II Thessalonians

“Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power.” (II Thessalonians 1:11)

Paul continually prayed for God to strengthen the early Christians. He desired that the believers would not grow weary. His prayer to the Ephesians reveals an in depth prayer-blessing request for the early believers.

    In Ephesians

“For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:14-21)

Praying these scriptures for your friend Alex, and for all of us, as Paul prayed for his church.

  65. Moderation(scripture references)

  66. Lord would you please continue to move upon the hearts of your people to give to this cause and would you bless those have given already. Would you bring enough financial support to allow a reserve for others who maybe threatened in this same manner. What a wonderful way for us to reach out in love for one another in a practical way. Thank you Lord for what you have done already ~ Amen

  68. Father, God

By you mercy and grace, I ask you to substain each one of during these difficulty and challenging times. I know that as we take that step of trust you reveal just how very faithful you are. So lord grant us your strength, your wisdom, and pour our your favor and love upon us in our our of need. Father, God it is you that holds everthing in hte palm of your hand and apart from you we can do nothing. We humble ourslelves in submission to your will and even though we have our own idea how that ourht to be done, we know that you know better than we do. Help us not to want anything other than this and help us , Father, God to accept that which we cannot change but to walk in that which you would have to change, wether, it would be about oursleves, or another, or something else, Father, God. Help us to pick ourselves off, as you dust us off, and rise up as a people who are called by your name, as an individual, and as your people, knowing you have chosen us, long before we chose you. Help us to draw closer to you in these terrible times, the world over, and help us to reach out to others even in the midst of what we may personally going through. Help us to love those who are unlovable and help to see them, through your eyes and not through the eyes of personal biases, prejudices, hurts, and woundings. Help us to strive to be more like Your Son, Jesus. Lord, help us to feed oursleves and those placed under care. Help us to have a heart that is more interested in doing your will rather than our own, and to know the difference between the two. Father, God, please put a hedge of protection around each one of us and bind the enemy from the darts and arrows He uses to stumble, discourage, tempts, and to deceive us into thinking that all is hopeless and justice will never prevail. Father, God pour your Holy Spirit out upon and within us afresh and anew, so that we can be empowered to fight off alll that is not of you and to see your face in the midst of it all. Father, God go before us and bring victory to the battles set before us and grant us the peace, comfort, and joy that goes beyond all understanding to keep us in the midst of any turmoil that may be brewing about or within us. Father God, for those who do not have a job or a place to lay their heads, I ask that you would be gracious and open the doors of your storehouse and pour your blessing abundantly upon these. You know who they are Lord and I ask for mercy and great compassion in enabling them to once again stand up and be counted among the living who are able to sleep in their own beds, cook a hot meal on their own stoves, and even to sit at a table to unfold a napkin as they asked for blessing for the meal that You have provided. Father, God I pray for you church everywhere that you would open our eyes and removes the scales that may be leaving us blind to focusing on that which is not that which we need to be concerned, and to lead us in the way we should go instead. Father, God thank you for being so very patient and kind and loving and ever so concerned for us and the world that goes many miles beyond what we have traveled or know. You, alone are more awesome than we in our finite being can comprehend. And in that, Father, I ask You to forgive our short-sightedness and taking things upon ourselves that we ought not have done. I ask You to forgive us for thinking we know better than You, as You we claim to be yours. But most of all, I ask You, Lord to forgive us for falling so short in loving and caring for one another as we ought to have done. At the same time, I also ask You to be the lifter of our heads when we are so undone and put to shame and humiliated, beaten, molested, persecuted, and falsely accused by those who have used Your Name to justify doing so. Help us to see through this and heal our hearts as we process through our thoughts and feelings from having gone through these trials and tribulations. And please Lord, bring others who are strong in You to comfort and to nourish us in your Word and in other concrete way to enable us to survive. Father God, thank you for Jesus and for giving us the Truth, the Way, and the Light, so by His blood, we can claim to be Yours and walk not by power, nor by might, but now by Your Holy Spirit, as we seek to do Your will, no matter the cost. In Jesus, precious and beautiful Holy Name, Amen. Maranatha

    C. H. Spurgeon

    ——————————————————————————–

    November 17
    God Never Forsakes

For the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance. (Psalm 94:14)
No, nor will He cast even so much as one of them. Man has his castoffs, but God has none; for His choice is unchangeable, and His love is everlasting. None can find out a single person whom God has forsaken after having revealed Himself savingly to him.

This grand truth is mentioned in the psalm to cheer the heart of the afflicted. The Lord chastens His own; but He never forsakes them. The result of the double work of the law and the rod is our instruction, and the fruit of that instruction is a quieting of spirit, a sobriety of mind, out of which comes rest. The ungodly are let alone till the pit is digged into which they will fall and be taken; but the godly are sent to school to be prepared for their glorious destiny hereafter. Judgment will return and finish its work upon the rebels, but it will equally return to vindicate the sincere and godly. Hence we may bear the rod of chastisement with calm submission; it means not anger, but love.

    God may chasten and correct,

    But He never can neglect;

    May in faithfulness reprove,

But He ne’er can cease to love.

I wanted to personally repent of my judgement of another man yesterday (BG). I cannot judge his motives just as I do not want anyone else to judge my motives.
This entry by Spurgeon confirms that God will chasten his own, and that I ought only be considering what I am doing, not others.
Lord, I leave others to be chastened by You alone. I trust those in my life to You. I will not try and change them-I will not judge their motives. I will allow the chatisement to You, in others lives and my own. Help me to keep in check my emotions; help me realize I am just as condemned as those I condemn. Help me grow in my walk with You.
    In Jesus’ name.

  71. Lord thank you for who You are and all that you have done for all of us on this site. I pray that your protection, peace and provision would be abundant in the lives of everyone who comes to this site for whatever reason. For those who know you I pray for increased levels of closeness with you. I pray that before 2012 ends any damage that wicked men may have caused to any aspect of any of our personal relationships with you, would be corrected and that we would individually see your glory and majesty and your overwhelming love and grace and goodness and know the difference between Your kingdom and the man-mad, demonic religious systems that have deceived many people over many centuries.

Help every heart to draw close to you and every mind to be renewed and transformed so that all understandings align with your understanding. I pray for Church leaders who are godly to rise up and recognize that they cannot be in unity with wicked and abusive systems the same way Jesus could not be in unity with the scribes and the Pharisees. Help a clear demarcation to be seen between the godly churches that are lead by your Spirit and the organizations that are led by carnal and satanic mindsets. Help us all to see that darkness cannot fellowship with light. Help all of us who walk in the light to have fellowship with each other and walk in unity and peace. Bless us as we do this. Continue to open avenues for Christian fellowship for everyone on this site. Draw each person to godly churches and godly leaders so that the Gospel can be declared as real in everyone’s life, because the Gospel is real and life-changing and powerful.

Lord, wicked men for centuries may have tried to disprove that but they have no lasting power. There is power in the blood and the name of Jesus. I pray that that power would be evident in every life. I pray healing, salvation and grace to be real in the lives of everyone coming to this site. i pray that as people come here even if they are blinded by an abusive system that those blinders will be removed as the power of your Holy Spirit impacts their lives. I pray that all of us who know you will be lights for you in the midst of a dark world and that we will constantly exhibit who you are to people waiting to see God’s glory.

Most of all I pray that you will get all of the glory in the outcome of anything we do or say. Be lifted up God and declare your sovereignty and strength in the midst of our weakness.

    In Jesus’ name,
    Amen

  72. Jesus, I come into agreement with your disciple to lift You up over all of the blinders and pride that stand in the way of seeing truth. Draw them to the light, show those who are fearful of change and uncertainty that you will lead and guide to a brighter day and better future. Bring peace to those who are in turmoil, Let not Satan have any foothold to bring conflict to distract off where You are leading. Bring servants that have been “under the shadow of your wings” into a place of Your positioning and authority, bring down false and self serving leaders who have brought destruction to your children. Bring boldness and clarity to all You are calling out for such a time as this. In Your name, cause your servants to bring fear and chaos to the work of the enemy in every form. Prompt those weak pastors/people of position and voice, who know they are in a leavened body to fear Your wrath more than man’s opinion, financial ease and complacency. Bring out those who have a heart to serve You and You only. Bring the spiritual authority to bring the word that divide bone n marrow, spirit and soul. Do a work in keeping with the God who sees all, knows all and is able to accomplish His justice for His children. Thank you that truth and justice are the foundation of Your throne and man has no throne. Thank you that we don’t go to a “church”, because we are the church. Be our help in time of need, especially Alex and his family. Bring justice bring truth bring Your kingdom to this, Lord swiftly.

In the name above all other’s Jesus, amen

  73. I know that everyone is praying for the people affected by the recent tragedy in CT so I am just asking that we would continue to do so. On this blog we may be trying to bring light to a specific area of darkness but I know that we are not unmoved by everything else that is happening nationwide. I know that we have those people on our hearts this weekend. I did not want to post a specific prayer. We can all cry out to Jesus on their behalf for divine comfort and peace.

  74. I miss Hannah’s encouragement on this blog for us to pray. It is so necessary that we remember to do this and to maintain our personal closeness with God and to hide His Word in our hearts. His Word is a light and a lamp and my prayer for all those who love the Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity, is that we would also love His Word because it reflects Him and His truth. I am also praying that we would heed the cautions in the Word to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees. The scribes and Pharisees spoke the law to the people and sat in Moses’ seat. Jesus told the people to do the things that the scribes and Pharisees told them to do from the law, but not to do according to their works. My prayer is that we see that organizations that continue in hypocrisy may be speaking straight out of the Bible and while we can follow the Word as spoken we have to be cautious not to follow their actions and in order to be cautious, we need to know what those actions are. I pray that we would have discernment and see clearly the difference between the things that God approves of and the things that grieve His heart.

Paul had men in his time who preached the Gospel for selfish ambition and in his letter to the Phillipians Paul chose to rejoice that the Gospel was preached, however in his letters to Timothy the same Paul called the names of people whose actions did not line up with the Gospel or who distorted it in some way. There is balance in the way our biblical examples like Paul dealt with things. I pray that we would all learn that balance through seeking the Lord individually and studying His Word so that we will be workers not needing to be ashamed but instead rightly dividing the Word of truth. A lack of knowledge causes people to perish and we are warned not to be ignorant and we are told that we should get wisdom as the principle thing and with it get understanding, so I pray for wisdom and understanding for God’s people so we will grow in the grace of the Lord and approve what is excellent and be God’s letters to the world. They will know that we are His disciples by our love for each other, so I pray that brotherly love would be stirred up both on this site but in our interactions with the Body of Christ wherever we are and that we would know what does not truly belong to the Church by using the discernment guidelines in the Word and seeing the absence of loving behavior in some organizations and recognizing that they have a form of godliness and yet lack the power of it. I pray that everyone who knows Christ who is trapped in the darkness of places like that would turn away from those places and walk the way Jesus walked and not continue to be deceived into thinking that it is acceptable for us to continue to look like we did before meeting Christ. Jesus paid too high of a price for us to continue to live in defeat to sin if we know Him. So I am praying that those who know Him will walk in the victory Jesus secured for us. I pray also that the multitudes who do not actually know Him but accepted “another Jesus”, will respond to the Holy Spirit’s call and come to know the true and living Jesus who is capable of keeping us from stumbling into a constant lifestyle of sin. I pray that for the occasional times when those who know Jesus sin, that we would know that we have an Advocate in Christ Jesus and we would not feel condemned in any way but that we would commit ourselves to Him for the sanctification process to continue.

I pray that always and in every way we would boast only in the Cross of Christ to which all of our sins were nailed. I pray that we would see the blood of Jesus as the precious, valuable life changing blood that it is and never allow anything or anyone to make us think less of the power of the Cross. I pray that others will continue to pray these things with me. We are one if we individually have the Holy Spirit living inside of us and I pray that in this unity the issues in organizations that are not rightly representing the effect of the Gospel, will be addressed in prayer. Everything I am praying is in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord. Please join me.

  75. Oh please my Lord, please, it is so overwhelming all the sin that is and has gone on with this church, I can sometimes hardly stomach it. Please please I beg of You please stop it and expose and bring these people to shame and repentance. Have mercy on the injured, have mercy according to Your nature. We cry out to you, enough enough bring justice, bring restitution, heal the injured. Lord let the abused see Your strong arm. Oh my God how long, how long must we wait for You, move on behalf of Your righteousness, come know and answer quickly.

  76. Lord tonight we are grateful for a judge who upholds the law and who was not swayed by corruption. I pray that he would continue to stand strong and to walk in integrity. I pray for continued healing and grace for the Grenier brothers. I also pray for healing and grace for the multitudes of people hurt nationwide by leaders in organizations like CC and some of the other places that speak your name for their own profit while allowing things to happen to the flock that show a lack of love. I pray that you show yourself strong on behalf of people who have been weakened by abuse and that you touch hearts and change lives. I pray that at the end of all of this CC and other organizations like it will be seen as they really are and will not be able to pretend that they are perfect and righteous, but will have to repent of corruption in their midst. I pray that if they refuse to repent you will remove all the influence that they have over the Christian community nationwide and worldwide and instead you will raise up more shepherds who have hearts like the Good Shepherd so the world will know that you care about your flock.

I pray all of this in Jesus’ name,
    Amen

  77. Lord tonight I am grateful not only for this blog but for every person and family represented on here. I ask that You would protect every regular on this blog. First I pray for Alex and Tim that You surround them with a hedge of protection as they wait for the outcome of the hearing. I pray for continued peace and strength in their hearts and our hearts. Lord I thank You for unity in this community of bloggers. We do not always agree on everything but even that is far healthier than the mind-control that many of us came out of. Thank You Lord that we have had blinders removed and please continue to remove any blinders that are left so we can see You clearly and see all the issues clearly. Continue to increase our individual confidence in You and who we are in You. Remove the lies of the enemy that suggest that corrupt leadership in organizations claiming to be Christian, are in some way more important than everyone else. Show the world that you care very much for everyone on this blog and for everyone who has been abused in one way or another. We are Yours God and we lay everything before You. We trust You and know that You are in control. Tonight I am grateful that we get to play a part in pointing out the fact that You are not pleased with the leaven of the Pharisees in abusive organizations. Father I pray tonight that as we do this You will pour out blessings on each life not for our own gain but so the world will know that You are at work in us. I pray for restoration for those who need it, provision for those who need it, peace for those who need it, joy for those who need it. grace for those who need it, hope for those who need it, love for those who need it, healing for those who need it. Lord You know all the needs of everyone on this blog and I ask that You will meet those needs the way that only You can. Most of all Lord I ask that You would encounter each life in a powerful way tonight and this week.

    In Jesus’name,
    Amen

  78. Amen.

  79. It seems after reading much of these posts, that it is time to divest and move on. CC has an arrogant spirit in general, in my opinion, and seems to be the valley of dry bones without the prophetic command to live, breathe, and fight. The success of CC ministry is hampered by a preference for exclusivity over movement of the Holy Spirit. I am average Joe with a hunger for the revelation of Christ NOW. Not spooky apostacy, but tangible evidence of the presence of God in the body. Sometimes Jesus is waiting for us to just move on and be grateful for the ability to discern what is before us. My vote says MOVE ON, drop the damned suits (real or metaphorical), divest and recover. Is that not “spiritual” enough? Peace…..out.

  80. Everyone,

I had difficulty in figuring out where to share this, then was reminded this blog had a place for prayer. This isn’t a prayer. It is, however, something that we can declare from the rooftops and know that He is Lord and He will be there as we fight this battle for the souls that the enemy have used to do harm against that which ought not be in His church.

  81. Linda

Did you ever hear Anne Graham Lotz’s “Just give me Jesus”? This is almost exactly the same! A good reminder of just Who our Lord is!

  82. Hannah, thank you for directing me to this thread. I do desperately need prayer. It seems selfish to ask, since so many are dealing with such serious situations. Yet, here I am. I am trying to recover my walk with the Lord, but it has been slow going. The need to forgive is at the top of the list. Just when I think I have, another wave of anger and disgust hits me and I feel like I’ll never be able to get past this. I want to be free, and recover the close, intimate walk I had with Jesus. And the pain in my heart seems to be separating me from Him, no matter how many times I cry out for deliverance from the past. I want to be free, as I used to be. My heart used to be tender and now it feels hard and crusty. If anyone feels led to pray, I would be so grateful. Thank you so so much.

  83. Brokenhearted,

    By all means yes.

You stated so concisely exactly the way that I have felt. You can’t seem to get back to the place of innocence when you could trust other believers and freely worship the Lord without risk of reprisal, especially from those who should know the truth.

It will be the good moments, bad moments scenario. then that will turn into good days vs bad days. Then the good days will outweigh the bad days. Then you will be on here hurting for the other people who are sharing their experiences.

Time to start reading through the Psalms. May the Lord comfort and heal you.

  84. Brokenhearted

I understand how difficult it is to forgive.
You think you have gotten there and then you replay the offense over and over again.
It is part of the process. The Lord will get you through it.
Just continue to seek Him, cry out to Him and He will give you comfort. He will sustain you. Don’t be hard on yourself when you have a setback. Let yourself experience the anger, sadness, alienation. And as you are here, the Lord will meet you.

Lord, I come to you on behalf of Brokenhearted.
You know what she is dealing with. She has asked for prayer. Lord you tell us in Your word that you are a strong tower, and that we can come to you in our times of need because we are Your children. You love us more than anyone on earth ever could. Your Son suffered a horrific death on the cross so that we can be restored to you. And right now Lord, you are with Brokenhearted. You are with her more in her pain, than you are when she is on the mountain tops. In this time of valley, please speak gently to her through Your Spirit. Let her know how much you love her. Wrap her in your arms and lighten this load that she is bearing. Please Lord, give her peace. The peace only You can give her.
Let this trial be a steppingstone for a greater and deeper walk with you.
Please give her rest- Your rest.
I pray that You will help her to have understanding about her situation.
Lord, I need not ask because You are in complete control of her situation, but You tell us to intercede for others.
I thank you for my sister (who is suffering in health and relationship) the other day who told me that when she was down and broken and had no one to turn to and no where else to go, You showed up for her and changed her bitter heart of a heart of love.
She was inspiring to me because she pointed me to YOU.

In You alone is where I find my comfort
In you alone, You’re my only hope..

    Only You alone.

Thank you Lord for hearting this request. I pray for all those here who need rest to seek You first with a sincere heart. We will find You when we seek You with ALL of our heart.
    That you have promised.

Blessings and love you to Brokenhearted. He is with you!
    Thank You Jesus.

  85. This was my favorite song for years.
I played in on my guitar.
I have not thought about it in years before my post.
I had many years I could not even listen to it.
I was in the valley for so long…
I hope it ministers to you!

  86. Hannah,

    That’s a beautiful song

  87. Fool Me Once

    Yes, her music is beautiful..
Kim Hill is one of my favorites because when I saw her live, she was struggling after the divorce, I remember she shared how her church basically kicked her out, and how she was raising her children…she would get in the car with her PJ’s and drive them to school.
She decided that traveling would not be good for her family so she backed off.
The most beautiful voice..she could have been a superstar in the secular world.
She was not performing but LIVING her music.

I actually sobbed watching that video because I remember a time when my church played that song…it brought me back in time.

  88. Broken Hearted,

What you are experiencing, feeling, and thinking are the normal things that one goes through when they have been psychologically, emotionally, and or spiritually raped. If you did not, I would be worried about you.

As for forgiveness, don’t worry about it, just take care of yourself and know that those who did harm were wrong and that the anger you have is that of righteous indignation, but not as near as angry as God is for them harming one of His own. Isaiah 41:10.

Embrace the pain, the hurt, and the suffering, knowing that having to go through it will make you much stronger, wiser, and ever so closer to Him that is right there beside you holding you in His bosom and pressed against His heart. I know, because like you, I too had to get through the PTSD that came about as a result of such things perpetrated against me simply because I chose to speak the truth and not compromise my own walk.

You may want to read up on Narcissism and the trauma they inflict upon others. When you can understand that this had nothing to do with you as a person, but more to do with their own wicked hearts, it helps in the healing process that is taking place within you.

  89. Thank you, thank you, for that beautiful song. Thank you for not telling me to “get over it.” (I wish I could!) Thank you for the reading suggestions. I am in the Word every day, but some days it just seems to bounce off of me. I am grateful for your kindness and understanding.

  90. Brokenhearted,

You are welcome! There are times we are in the “desert”.
I was there. I spent that time reading books that were recommended.
Just let God use this time for His purposes.

I had to become bold and tell people that what God is doing with me personally is none of their business. (“Get over it”)

No one knows that is right for you and what you are experiencing is between you and the Lord.

I will continue to pray for you and keep you lifted!

  91. About 10 years ago I bought a book called “Just give me Jesus” by Anne Graham Lotz.
In the back was a CD called by the same name-music Fernando Ortega.
I used to play it for the women in my Bible study.
It is powerful. I lost it many years ago.
    Thankfully there is Youtube.
    Listen to the powerful words.

  92. Once my counselor, who was also a great Baptist pastor, but gave up pastoring for a long time to just focus on counseling only, told me forgiveness is not about the emotions of forgiving.

The world wants us to believe that if we forgive we’ll never have a bad memory about that person who wronged us. But we know that is not true because Satan and also our human nature will cause us to have memories.

The pastor told me that forgiveness according to the Scriptures is to not avenge ourselves but allow God vengence on our behalf. So the pastor asked me, was I getting revenge. No I wasn’t.

Sometimes the best way to allow ourselves to feel the “good” emotions that come along with forgiveness is to simply pray for our enemies as Jesus said. We did not make them our enemies, they did. So we don’t have to feel guilty about praying for them as our “enemies.”

  93. Dear Lord, help us to feel the emotions of forgiveness, toward those wronging us, despite our grief, and to feel and see the healing touch of your Spirit through our grief.

  94. Thank You Lord, that we can forgive others because you first forgave us, and also thank You for Your healing touch.

  95. Cathryn,
Great words and ideas to ponder about forgiveness. Thank you.

    Just Give Me Jesus!
Hannah, I own that book and also the CD. The spoken part that she speaks is a sermon that was delivered by S.M. Lockridge sometime in like the 60′s (?). “That’s my King”. Fantastic.

Praying you all are having a peaceful day/night.
